Fixing Those Circles Under My Eyes

When I found Kandee's video on cutting bangs, I also watched a few more of her videos and came upon this one.  I don't know exactly how to find the exact color that works for you, but it gives you enough to go on so you can ask more at a beauty store or counter--Make-Up Plastic Surgery: Getting Rid of Under Eye Circles.  Its pretty amazing...I've tried the method with the concealor I am currently using and I haven't quite perfected it.  I might need to invest in a better concealor and practice the technique.  Although, I watched another video that recommends Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealor which is available at Walmart for about only $6.  I've also heard Preparation H helps with puffiness.

Okay, I know these aren't the best pictures, but it will at least give you an idea.  Keep in mind that I didn't have great light, I applied my make-up with a screaming 21 month old that wanted it on her eye, too, and I've only tried it a couple of times...I don't have any make-up on except under my right eye.  I used Loreal's Studio Secrets Anti-Redness primer, Cover Girl Invisible Concealor, and Cover Girl trublends minerals loose powder to set it.

Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Cutting My Own Hair

As you guys know, I'm always looking for new ways to save money. So, when I found a discounted offer for Image Beauty's website I checked it out just in case I could find cheap make-up. So, this is where I found my hair cutting scissors and thought I could invest in some scissors and save on future hair cuts. Originally, I bought the scissors with the intention of cutting H's hair. I started searching online and came upon some information about cutting your own hair...and I thought I have finally reached a point where saving money is more important than having the "look" I want.

Since my hair is so thick and I am taking prenatal vitamins so my hair is growing really fast, I figure why not try? Here is the video you all made fun of me for...Kandee the Make Up Artist's How To Cut Side Swept Bangs (fringe) like nicole richie. I've always been afraid to take chances with my hair for fear of how I would look, but I figure who really cares what my hair looks like except me? So, I tried to do what Kandee said and then I read How To Layer Cut Your Own Hair on eHow and How to Layer Your Own hair on wikiHow about cutting layers and viewed the video at the bottom. I kind of took all of the ideas and went from there. I razored my bangs, cut my layers, and then texturized the best I could. So, it didn't turn out as "perfect" as I would like, but it also didn't turn out as bad as I had expected.

Before
After

I think I should have taken more off the bottom to make the layers not look so choppy, but at least I've tried it once and can do better next time...

Pictures of H and A

Pictures of H as a Flower Girl
She refused to keep the flowers on her head...

Since I walked down the aisle with her, I don't have any other pictures...

H's First Day of Mother's Day Out
Her backpack has her name on it, so I used the ones that have her super special Tinker Bell lunch box.

Here are a couple more recent picutures of A.
